Hoppus Swappus: best present ever!
The time has come, I feel I have to put down some lines to better imprint in my memory the awesome experience I had.
When I saw the first Hoppus Swappus article on fuse.com I instantly decided I had to participate though I didn’t have anything interesting to offer to Mark. So I skipped the first one. For the second swap, I offered a disney plush. None! I didn’t win. Third swap, I tried with a plain, simple house ornament whose only special feature was that it’s a piece of italian artisan craft. I straight after had a brainwave to offer a drawing I made for Mark a while ago. I had already tried to show it to him through some social networking sites but it probably went unnoticed.
I didn’t think I had many chances to win, I had some valid rivals. On April 24th, I checked the Hoppus on Music website I scrolled down and saw my drawing published. I couldn’t believe I had just won! I was really excited especially knowing that Mark (together with his team) chose it personally, and also said: “best drawing ever, right?”. This was the coolest thing ever: I like drawing, I never won anything interesting and receiving a compliment from my idol is more than amazing and the gratification is doubled!
Before sending my drawing to Fuse’s offices I felt I had to take advantage of this unique opportunity and wrote something for Mark.
Today I received Mark’s disco ball!! I had also asked the team, without any espectation, if he could eventually sign it. As always, Mark was super kind. And you can see it yourself from this picture I took!
This has been a really really great experience, one of those you will never forget. Again, thank you Mark!
